In-specie benefit payments
$POA

This service requires legal advice and tailoring.  Quoted fees for client acceptance will vary based on the complexity of the advice and/or documentation required.

It is possible for an SMSF to pay benefits to its members through a transfer of assets rather than as cash.

Only lump sum benefits can be paid in-specie, not pension benefits. Examples of such lump sum payments may include a benefit owed to members once they have satisfied a condition of release, a lump sum death benefit to beneficiaries, and a commutation of pension where the subsequent commutation sum goes towards payment of an in-specie benefit.

We assist with advice on, and preparation of compliance documents formally enacting an in-specie benefit payment.
